MChinMed PT

The MChinMed programme is a 2-year part-time programme offered by the School of Chinese Medicine. This programme aims to enhance the theoretical knowledge and strengthen clinical skills in Chinese medicine of those Chinese Medicine professionals, particularly in the stream of Internal Medicine.

The MChinMed curriculum consists of theoretical courses and capstone experience (clinical attachment and dissertation). Candidates are required to complete a minimum of 72 credits curriculum requirement in the prescribed sequence for the MChinMed curriculum as set out below:

Theoretical courses
(a) Theoretical knowledge (12 credits)
(b) Research knowledge    (6 credits)
(c) Clinical knowledge for diagnosis of different common diseases (18 credits)
(d) Progress of modern research in Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine (3 credits)

Capstone experience
- Advanced Clinical Attachment (12 credits)
-Dissertation (21 credits)

The clinical attachment may be taken in blocks during the designated timeslot(s) assigned for such purpose within the candidates' period of registration.

Programme Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for admission, a candidate shall:
(a) comply with the General Regulations but with a waiver of Regulation G2(b);
(b) comply with the Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Curricula but with a waiver of Regulation TPG2(d); and
(c) hold the degree of Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine/Bachelor of Chinese Medicine of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from another University or comparable institution accepted for this purpose; or a Bachelor's degree in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy or another healthcare related programme and a diploma in Chinese Medicine from a University or comparable institution accepted for this purpose.
