About the Faculty
The University of Hong Kong is proud to announce the launch of an exciting suite of new interdisciplinary undergraduate degree programmes from the 2019/20 academic year, designed to meet the needs of our ever-changing global society.
The new Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degrees, involving all ten faculties, are aimed at nurturing globally-minded thinkers and leaders able to leverage their interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to address the contemporary and future challenges of our increasingly complex world. There are five BASc programmes and one BASc programme for senior year students. These are:
- BASc(Social Data Science)
In bringing together the arts and sciences, the new BASc programmes are designed to develop an interdisciplinary mindset and approach to learning, crossing traditional faculty lines and enabling students to work creatively and collaboratively in adopting innovative ways of thinking and problem solving.
The BASc family is unique, and will provide high-quality, transformative learning experiences for the best and brightest talents locally and from around the world, such as:
- a cutting-edge leadership programme
- exchange opportunities (e.g. with Yale, UCBerkeley, UBC, LSE, UCL, etc.)
- internship opportunities (e.g. Google, NVidia, WHO, UN, etc.)
- experiential learning
Graduates will be equipped to eventually take on leadership positions in education, government, business and industry as well as further studies in peer institutions in Hong Kong or internationally.
